Huge Project Underway!

We moved into our home 6 years ago and I was just starting my hobby as a photographer. I was really only just that-a hobbyist. My real job was a full-time Occupational Therapy Assistant who took photos during the evenings and weekends. All to make a little extra dough to renovate our 1970's home (picture white EV-ER-Y-THING). We welcomed our first baby boy 2 years after living here, and brought our little girl home just a little over a year ago. The tiny bedrooms that I once designated as my "home studio" are now tailored perfectly to my kids and sprinkled with toys. Right before I had Bryn, I lost my job, somewhat unexpectedly, to a therapy company change. I was 100% devastated. I loved my job, and my coworker(s). I was always completely terrified to quit my day job and pursue photography full-time, until I had no other choice. This year has been eye opening in the most positive ways! I have grown my business leaps and bounds. I learn every single day. I have collaborated with the best of the best in my community and have absolutely thrived on that. Blessed. Seriously though. What a testimony that God will always provide. It was his plan 6 years ago for me to start this hobby, because he knew right then and there that I would not be an Occupational Therapy Assistant forever. His will, not mine. Ok back to the project! I've been asking (ok BEGGING) my dad for a while to help me finish out our gigantic basement into a studio space. And last week, a miracle happened, TWO walls went up. We have a ways to go, and with school nearing it's start, we will be losing Dad's tag-a-long baby watcher a.k.a. "Mimi". I am so excited for this project though! You can expect a spacious studio with a separate lounging area complete with a large TV (Josh says the bigger the better) to entertain your other kiddos or your bored-of-out-his-mind husband. I am so looking forward to sharing updates as we move along. Kelsey Sutherland Photography Studio isn't just a dream anymore.
